This image was taken around Thanksgiving 1996. Ben (at 7 years) was the boss
ferret who could put even Jasmine, the youngest ferret (1 1/2 years), in her
place. Three months later Ben would have a golf-ball sized tumor removed from
her pancreas. At this point we had no idea that anything was wrong.
Ben died on August 22, 1997 from lymphoma. Jasmine died June 18, 1999 from
unknown causes after adrenal surgery.
